Harry Fleming is Abbert Capital’s Founder. Fleming has 35+ years of legal and business experience including having led multiple public company IPOs. Fleming has served in CEO/CFO/GC roles at both public and private companies focusing on turnarounds and growth in the Healthcare and Energy industries.
Harry Fleming is a principal and the founder of Abbert Capital. Harry has more than 35 years of legal and business experience in corporate finance and securities law, focusing on emerging growth companies, mergers and acquisitions, strategic business planning and turnaround execution. His background includes venture capital representation, business strategy consulting, public company representation, as well as mergers and acquisitions with high-tech firms in Houston and Boston. Additionally, he has extensive experience consolidating companies in the healthcare, energy and waste management industries.
As CEO, president, CFO and general counsel for several public and private companies, Fleming has a broad base of experience dealing with turnaround and growth strategies. Having spent more than 20 years at law firms in Houston and Boston, Fleming maintains the highest rating (AV) of U.S. attorneys by Martindale-Hubbell. Fleming is admitted to practice law in Texas and Massachusetts. He is also admitted to practice before the U.S. Supreme Court. Fleming received his master’s degree in business administration from Boston College in 1999, his juris doctorate from the University of Houston in 1983, and a bachelor’s degree from the University of St. Thomas in 1980.

Joseph Fleming is the CEO and Managing Partner of Abbert Capital, where he integrates corporate finance with geopolitical expertise. A seasoned advisor to sovereign states and multinationals, he specializes in cross-border M&A and compliance across MENA, Asia, and Eastern Europe, drawing on extensive private equity and healthcare leadership.
Joseph Fleming serves as CEO and Managing Partner at Abbert Capital, where he leverages a distinct combination of corporate finance and geopolitical expertise to drive high-value investments. In his capacity as a lead strategic advisor, he recently spearheaded a $7.5 billion cross-border energy transaction.
As a strategy consultant, Mr. Fleming has advised international sovereign clients—including the governments of Pakistan, Libya, and Yemen—and a diverse range of high-profile multinational corporations. His expertise focuses on cross-border M&A, strategy, and corporate compliance, particularly across the MENA region, Asia, and Eastern Europe.
Mr. Fleming’s background includes extensive experience in corporate M&A, including leading the internal M&A team at an NYSE-listed healthcare company. In this role, he managed the full acquisition lifecycle—from deal origination and due diligence to negotiation, capital raises, and closing—contributing to the acquisition of over a dozen facilities.
Prior to his current leadership roles, he was an Executive Vice President at an international management consulting firm, overseeing strategic advisory for risk, intelligence, investigations, and compliance teams. Earlier in his career, Mr. Fleming held positions at private equity firms and publicly listed energy companies with operations in North America, the Middle East, and North Africa. He holds a BS from the University of Houston.
Senior Advisor
Mr. Manget heads Advisory Services at Abbert Capital. He previously served as Global Head, Relationship Investing, at the Ontario Teachers’ Pension Plan. His background includes leadership at Desjardins Securities and board service. He holds degrees from the University of Toronto and Harvard Business School.
Ken Manget leads Investment & Advisory Services at Abbert Capital, bringing extensive experience in capital raising, global investing and strategic capital allocation. Before joining Abbert, he served as Global Head of Relationship Investing at Ontario Teachers’ Pension Plan, where he managed a $10 billion portfolio and led international teams across Toronto, Hong Kong, and London.
Ken’s career spans senior leadership roles in investment banking and capital markets, including Managing Director and Head of Investment Banking at Desjardins Capital Markets and key senior positions at BMO Capital Markets. He has originated and structured over $30 billion in capital funding programs and serves on boards across public, private, and not-for-profit sectors.
He holds an MBA from Harvard Business School and a B.Sc. in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Toronto.

Özer Öz is a seasoned international executive and strategic advisor with 30 years of experience in global industry, trade relations, and investment. As former COO of Yıldırım Holding, he drove international expansion and operational efficiency across 50+ countries.
Özer Öz is a highly accomplished international executive and strategic advisor with three decades of professional experience in global industry, trade relations, and cross-border investment. His career includes high-level roles in both public and private sectors, focusing on developing industrial infrastructure, expanding international business operations, and facilitating government-business partnerships.
From 2003 to 2024, Öz held multiple leadership positions at Yıldırım Holding, a major Turkish multinational conglomerate operating in sectors like mining, energy, and logistics across over 50 countries. Appointed COO in 2017, he was pivotal in executing international expansion strategies. His key achievements include optimizing global operations for efficiency, leading multinational business units, driving strategic organizational restructuring, and championing sustainability and corporate social responsibility.
Prior to Yıldırım Holding, Öz was the founding General Manager for both the İstanbul Trakya Free Zone, Turkey’s first private free zone, and the Kocaeli Free Zone. He established their operational frameworks and attracted significant foreign direct investment.
Since March 2025, Öz has served as Managing Partner for Abbert Development, leading Abbert Capital’s in-house project development division. He holds a bachelor’s degree in Management Engineering from Istanbul Technical University and an MS in Finance from Golden Gate University.

Ambassador Matthew Bryza was a former U.S. diplomat for 23 years, culminating as Deputy Assistant Secretary of State and Ambassador to Azerbaijan. Matthew focuses on identifying opportunities driven by US and global geopolitical changes and managing target relationships in the Greater Caspian Region.
As a Partner at Abbert Capital, Ambassador Matthew Bryza helps traverse complex geopolitical challenges. He currently serves on the boards of energy and telecommunications companies operating from the greater Caspian region to Texas. Ambassador Bryza is also a Board Member of the Jamestown Foundation, a think tank headquartered in Washington, DC. He was formerly Director of the International Centre for Defense and Security in Tallinn, Estonia, where he founded the think tank’s energy security and cyber security programs.
In 2012, Matthew completed a 23-year career as a U.S. diplomat, culminating as Ambassador to Azerbaijan. Earlier, he served as Deputy Assistant Secretary of State (2005-2009) and Director on the National Security Council Staff at the White House (2001-2005) for U.S. relations with Turkey, Cyprus, Greece, Central Asia, and the South Caucasus. From 1998 to 2001, Ambassador Bryza was the Deputy Special Advisor to the President and Secretary of State on Caspian Basin Energy Security. Bryza also served in the U.S. Missions to Russia (1995-1997) and Poland (1989-1991).
Matthew is the recipient of Estonia’s Cross of Terra Mariana and Georgia’s Order of St. George. He received his Bachelor’s degree in international relations from Stanford University and his master’s degree from the Fletcher School of Law and Diplomacy at Tufts University.

Ronald Gualy is an experienced executive (energy, renewables, tech, engineering) skilled in strategic opportunities and value creation. Formerly with large EPCs (KBR, Foster Wheeler) and startups, he has international expertise (Asia/LatAm) and now focuses on renewables and decarbonization strategies.
Ronald Gualy is a highly qualified and experienced executive. His successful career includes creating value, identifying and formulating strategic, revenue- generating opportunities, projects, partnerships, joint ventures, acquisitions, and alliances within the energy, renewables, technology, and engineering industries.
Ron spent most of his career with large EPC companies (Foster Wheeler, Kellogg Brown, and Root) as well as for smaller private organizations and startups, identifying, developing, and executing major projects and opportunities. His expertise includes P&L, M&A, business development, sales team management, licensing, manufacturing, and executive management. Throughout his career, Ron has been directly responsible for business lines in large geographical areas of key accounts, with a strong focus on Asia and Latin America. His experience and understanding of technology, technology development, and acquisitions provide a solid base for evaluating new opportunities, companies, and developments.
In his most recent roles and positions, Ron developed renewable projects and solutions, evaluated technologies and strategies, and provided sustainability consulting. His direct involvement in developing green hydrogen/ammonia projects, renewable power, and energy storage and advising on net zero strategies provides a unique perspective on supporting organizations’ decarbonization targets based on current global ESG requirements. Ron has also consulted on identifying decarbonization strategies and practical solutions to reach net-zero targets and objectives while maximizing the benefits of new incentives for the projects and owners.

Ed McMullen advises clients on economic development and Foreign Direct Investment, drawing on 30+ years in policy and business. He served as U.S. Ambassador to Switzerland and Liechtenstein (2017-21), significantly strengthening ties and boosting Swiss investment in the U.S.
Ed McMullen has worked with clients in public policy, politics, and business nationally and internationally for more than 30 years. From the firm’s Charleston, South Carolina, and Washington, D.C. offices, Ed provides economic development and foreign direct investment (FDI) guidance to a broad range of clients. Ed has an extensive background in public affairs and PR in issues related to energy, healthcare, and government relations. Ed works closely with a team of government relations professionals and lawyers to help clients with investment and economic development opportunities, state incentives, state environmental regulations, and the range of services relating to FDI.
Ed served as Ambassador of the United States to Switzerland and Liechtenstein from November 2017–January 2021. He has been recognized for developing the strongest bilateral relationship with U.S./Swiss relations in history. During his service as Ambassador, Ed focused on FDI and met more than 300 CEOs and chairs of boards of directors throughout Switzerland and Liechtenstein, building relationships and a favorable environment for economic growth. Thanks to Ed’s leadership in this initiative, Switzerland moved from the eighth-largest to the sixth-largest foreign direct investor in the United States. He is a frequent guest of the World Economic Forum in Davos, Switzerland.

Tom Foster advises Abbert Capital. Formerly at Exxon for 30 years, he specialized in complex taxation and litigation. Mr. Foster served on NYSE boards and engaged internationally on tax issues concerning U.S. oil companies, also practicing privately in tax and restructuring.
Tom Foster is an advisor for Abbert Capital. Mr. Foster practiced federal and cross-border taxation (international, state and local) for 30 years (through 1997) at Exxon. Mr. Foster has served on the board of several NYSE traded companies. Mr. Foster presented numerous tax presentations and meetings with various foreign governments (including China) on local and U.S. tax issues of concern to U.S. oil companies. He managed state income tax litigation (including various major Alaska tax cases). He coordinated industry efforts to challenge states’ positions on various tax issues in state and federal courts, including the U.S. Supreme Court. In addition, Mr. Foster private practiced law specializing in tax and restructuring. Mr. Foster has a BA from Baylor University School of Business, a JD from Baylor University School of Law and a LLM Master of Laws in taxation New York University School of Law.
