Tom Foster practiced federal and cross-border taxation for 30 years at Exxon (through 1997), specializing in international, state, and local taxation. He served on multiple NYSE board positions and presented tax issues to foreign governments — including China — on behalf of U.S. oil companies.
Tom managed state income tax litigation including major Alaska tax cases, and coordinated industry efforts challenging state tax positions in state and federal courts, including the U.S. Supreme Court. He subsequently moved into private practice specializing in tax and restructuring.
