Ed McMullen

Ambassador Ed McMullen has worked in public policy, politics, and business nationally and internationally for over 30 years, with offices in Charleston, SC and Washington, DC. He joined Abbert Capital in April 2025 as a Senior Advisor, providing economic development and foreign direct investment guidance.

From November 2017 to January 2021, Ambassador McMullen served as the U.S. Ambassador to Switzerland and Liechtenstein. He was widely recognized for cultivating the strongest bilateral relationship in U.S.-Swiss history. Through dedicated outreach, he met with over 300 CEOs and board chairs, contributing to Switzerland advancing from the eighth to the sixth-largest foreign direct investor in the U.S.

He brings extensive background in public affairs and government relations in the energy and healthcare sectors, and is a frequent guest of the World Economic Forum in Davos.
